GBBD April-2009
Mid April is a season of mixed blessings here in Indiagrden. The spring blooms are ebbing away and summer annuals are gradually showing up. It is a cauldron of gifts from both the seasons which I display here as a part of GBBD post started by Carol of Maydreamgardens.Petunia
Chincherinchee
Rose
Crape jasmine
Dahlia
Brunfelsia americana
Hibiscus
Hollyhock
Easter Lily
Gladioli
Gaillardia
Plumbago
Bouganvillea
These are the babies I nurtured over the late winter and spring season. Some of them will not survive the harsh summers and will be replaced by their summer cousins. Winter, spring or summers, it is a show which goes on; the characters change but the show goes on….
Your blooms are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely...I remember my first summer gardening here (over 20 years ago) I fell in love with Brunfelsia americana. They called it Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow... Does it have a tiny bit of fragrance? That's what I remember! gail
ReplyDeleteBoy! You sure have some beauties! I really like the petunia, it really pops!
ReplyDeleteGaillardia and dahlias are amazing! Bouganvillea is one of my favorites, but we have to grow them in pots here, and move them inside during the winter.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers look great - by the way I have added your blog to my blogroll. Your Brunfelsia is interesting - I have Brunfelsia too and it will start blooming from now onward here in Japan, but the color changes from a bluish purple to white. I also bought Gaillardia seeds when I visited India in Feb and have planted them in pots. I miss the fragrant flowers of India!
ReplyDeleteI adore your flowers - especially the dahlia - that coloring is remarkable! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWow wow wow, you have so many beautiful blooms. Love the hollyhock and dahlias and all of them!
ReplyDeleteYour gladiolus is beautiful. Do all your bougainvillea look that good? Mine look pretty bad after the March winds we get here.
ReplyDeleteIs there one flower you cannot grow there??? LOL! Your plants are gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteAs always, your blooms are lovely. I've never seen a Rose like that Pink and white. Great photos, as always, GT.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely display of flowers! What is that gorgeous rose in your header photo?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooms, I specially like the white hibiscus. I have a brunfelsiaa americana in my garden that I love dearly, the aroma is second to none
ReplyDeleteI love your show! The change in characters are what keeps the garden interesting isn't it so?
ReplyDeleteThe cauldron of gifts from the garden appears to be overflowing, Green Thumb! They're all beautiful but the white hibiscus is especially graceful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blooming Day - hope things don't heat up too fast for you.

The white hibiscus is lovely. We have a lot of them around Southern California, but I don't think I've ever seen a pure white one.
ReplyDeleteSo many flowers !!
ReplyDeleteStunning !!
Can't pick my favorite.
You've reminded me that only a few of my hollyhock have germinated.
Hollyhocks tend to get rust disease in my garden :(
Hi GreenThumb, Everything looks gorgeous, as usual! You always have one of the nicest gardens I visit. It must be a beautiful site to see in person! Have a wonderful day! Jan
ReplyDeleteGosh! You have many wonderful blooms there :)
ReplyDeleteI particularly like your chincheree and the bougainvillea, as I don't have those in my garden :)
Like what i seen here, it was very interesting to see and visit all
ReplyDeletethe great stuff on here, and would very much recommend this site to someone else also. Great Job...
Beautiful flowers! Love the Dahlia. Most of my flowers are done, but the cacti is blooming and will for the next few weeks. Then...really hot!
