That’s a huge Pumpkin hidden behind leaves and twigs! I had completely overlooked this side of garden and today I chanced upon this monstrous veggie. Doesn’t it look like one of those so famous Halloween Pumpkins?

MY WORST FEARS JUST CAME TRUE!!!

Yesterday, on finding Nicole's blog tagged, I anticipated this, and here I am struggling with all my recent and past memories (curse you Colin!) for those five things about me, my life. After much introspection I've come out with these: 1. At the age of Two, while walking in a dark night, I fell in an open Sewer manhole(eeeeeks!). Fortunately my hand stuck out and my cousin, who was accompanying me, caught it in time and pulled me out. Well since then, thankfully, civic facilities have improved and I, personally am, more careful. 2. Besides Gardening I am very fond of pets. Right now I have a Chocolate Labrador whom I simply adore! In my School days I had a few rabbits and two lovely Parrots as my companions. 3. I met my Husband during my Medical College days. We were Batch-mates and liked each other right since our first meeting. He formally proposed me in the Anatomy Dissection hall with a cadaveric upper limb and the dissection table separating us. (I guess that will count among the top 10 unlikliest places to be proposed). 4. I love Dancing. I've got some training in 'Kathak' dance (classical dance form from north-India) and would love to learn 'Salsa' and 'Tango'. 5. Someday I wish to own a big nursery of diverse varieties of plants! Now I,ll have to bring my sadistic tendencies to fore to name five 'victims' for this blogtag thing. 1.lilymarlene 2.yum 3.parnika 4.earlysnowdrop 5.doughlas

My budding garden lover displaying the souvenirs she has collected from the kitchen garden.

My Croton Collection

DO FLOWERS ALONE MAKE A PLANT LOOK BEAUTIFUL??? Certainly not! a look at these beauties testifies to the artist nature is. No flowers, just the leaves with a mixture of colour and variations in pattern.

Here blooms my first Pansy of the season. I have always been fascinated by Pansies…that cute face staring at you with a mixture of frown and deep thought, I remember reading somewhere that the word Pansy is derived from French word pensee- meaning ‘thought’ as the flower looks busy in some deep thought!

Whew! Finally the downpour has exhausted itself but not before it gave me lot of tense moments and did some damage to my garden.
Here it blooms-the beautiful Dahlia, standing defiantly like a true survivor, warming my heart with its orange glow.
WHEN THE HELL WILL IT STOP???
At first it won't rain for months and finally when it does, it is untimely and shows no sign of stopping.
First few drops soothed my soul but the rest of them have soaked my garden and suffocated my plants, my heart cries for these poor things still standing defiantly against this unexpected onslaught. I hope the rains stop soon...

I was pleasantly surprised today as I woke up to a heavily clouded morning. Slightly unusual for this time of the year but is like a boon for my garden.
I hope it does not rain too heavy, just sufficient to water my thirsty garden.
