Blogging Sentiments

Last several months forced me to compromise on many things as there was too much going on at the same time in life. I poked my head into several things at once which included professional up gradation and increased responsibilities on my work front. And thus, I had to be away from two of my greatest stress busters – gardening and blogging. It was especially the latter which I rued missing most. Over the time giving and receiving comments, blog hopping, writing posts, photography from a bloggers’ perspective etc have become an essential way of life. Not reading my favorite blogs starts giving me withdrawal symptoms, just the way the absence of morning newspaper makes me jittery. Devoid of my daily dose of addiction had me thinking on the marvel of this level of interaction; an experience of ‘Bliss’ while soaked in Indian humidity, Transplanting Roses’ while sipping on the morning Tea; a taste of ‘little corner of Paradise’ at the press of a button, or shall we say, click of a mouse; looking at the smudges on Earth Paint and Life while smoothening the creases on the bed sheet enjoying ‘maydreams’ while rubbing the sleepy morning eyes; traveling to and with the ‘Caribbean gardener’ all over the globe while wondering on menu for the breakfast; a peep over the ‘Balcony gardener’s’ exploits while my little gardener gets ready for the school; or may be treating my visual senses to some beautiful ‘Succulent Life’ as the day starts for me on a high note thanks to all the wonderful fellow bloggers … The list is exhaustive and growing! And I consider myself privileged to have been found worthy of a blog visit by my fellow bloggers, whose words and posts are a constant companion to my thoughts even if I myself find it difficult to be very regular in posting.

It's been that kind of a summer in my life too, Green thumb - this is the first time I didn't try to post for blooming day and visit most of the other posts - but real life must prevail sometimes and the garden hose has been in my hand much more often than a computer mouse of late.

I love the photo of your terracotta collection - we have similar clay fish.

Well, I for one miss you when you're not there! I work long, hard hours in my job too and it is so nice to come home to friends all over the world! Keep your thumb green, my friend.

Nice to see you blog again. I almost check your blog everyday waiting for an update but I understand how difficult it must be for you. Thanks for dropping by and I was honored by your comments. Thanks for the reassurances. :)
By the ways, as said, I am an amateur gardener, can you tell me how long it takes for the Impatiens (Balsam) to give out 3 or 4 sets of true leaves? Mine have just now grown about 4 inches and yet to give any true leaves...

I too have been letting real life take precedence over my online life for the last several months. I'm just now getting around to visit some blogs I haven't been to in a while, but luckily the posts and pictures stay fresh. The mangoes (previous post) look delicious!

It's always a pleasure to visit you Green Thumb, however frequently you blog.

The mangoes look inviting - thanks for the information on enforced ripening - I always had my suspicions.

Hello Green Thumb!!!! I have missed seeing you too! Life comes first, for sure! Hope your little one is doing well. Today I tried a new trick... to stop, take a deep breath and stretch my hamstrings at the same time while coming up the stairs at work! No one will miss you for the extra 10 seconds you hang your heels off a step and take a nice deep breath!

Thanks for the mention in this post! Love all your pics and sentiments!

Have a wonderful rest of the summer!

I love your blog. The colorful flowers are a riot. I love gardening, but cannot do much now. I still sow some seeds and love it when the plant sprouts! Your helper is so cute and Bruno looks like a good helper too. Is it my imagination or did I see another little dog in the Blog? Good luck with your garden!

I see that returning to blogging has been a Blissful ;-) experience for you. I've been offline for a week due to pc trouble so I can relate to the suffering from BWS (blogging withdrawel symptoms). Glad to have you back, my dear!

It is fun to be part of this whole garden bloggers community, isn't it? Nowadays I find gardening magazines boring, I'd rather read what my garden friends are up too in Spain, India, Canada, Britain, USA etc.

Another thing I can relate to of late is that hot and humid weather you are experiencing. Last Monday it was 33 C with a humidity of 70 %. I'm sure you have it much worse but it made me think of you and how difficult it must be to garden in those circumstances.

BTW I corrected that little mistake so now it's your lovely bog that's back on my blog roll. Thanks for letting me know!

I, too, have found little time to blog over the past year as I am at the stage in my life where I have a trail of 'old dears' who need a great deal of my time and attention. As a result I have done very little of my watercolour or silk painting.

I can relate to your feeling of having withdrawal symptoms as I, too, enjoy keeping up with my fellow bloggers ...and you, my dear Green Thumb, are one whose garden I so enjoy visiting.

Everything is so vibrant. One could be forgiven for wondering if some of the plants are artificial for their colours are so rich..as if straight from a paint palette.

Today's mixture is breathtakingly beautiful ...from the rich reds to the magenta pinks, to the cool glaucous blues and greys..and I love, love, love the textural quality of your little terracotta pots and planters.

We must be symbiotic, feeding off each other...in the nicest possible way. I always feel welcome :)
