Colour in the Garden

Interesting concepts never seem to elude garden bloggers. Bloghopping I came across Nan ondra’s blog post about the color in the garden and instantly loved the idea. I had to do some digging in the hard disc to come up with these purple blooms stored somewhere in the digital memory which I thought are worth reviving through my post . A symbol of nobility and spirituality, purple is a mix of cool blue and hot red; which makes it all the more pertinent to have a predominantly purple post in this change of season from cold to warm. ?

What a cheerful selection of photos - and you're the first to choose purple! I'll try to remember to add a link to your post when I do the GBDW wrap-up at the end of the month. Or, feel free to leave a link now in a comment on the post over at Gardening Gone Wild. Many thanks!

Green Thumb,

Thank you for posting these photographs. Some days require bursts of purple. It is a cheering and soothing colour to me - I suppose that's why it is so predominant in my garden and even more so in my house.

It was much appreciated!

I love purple, too, GreenThumb - your wandering through the digital photo file came up with some beauties - especially the Eggplant!

Oh- you have Impatiens balsamina- we used to just call it Balsam - if it grows for you, maybe I should try it again.

Loads of lovely purple. The dahlia is really pretty,as is the garlic vine. I also have a similar crepe myrtle, though its still quite small.

Just popped in to let you know that I saw that gorgeous garden of mr Chand you showed on your blog on telly last sunday. It was wonderful to see and it made me think of you. :-)

Love purple so your post with all those gorgeous pics is a real treat. Thanks for sharing, dear Green Thumb!

dear Green Thumb

Thought you'd like to know that the magical garden you shared with us last year on one of your trips was featured on Monty Don's "Around the World in 80 Gardens" BBC. Remember, the one done on wasteland, secretely by one man, using all recyclable materials. He was even available to talk about it.

We thought of you and how marvellous for you to have been there.
